The way of teaching in the institute is a lot different. Greater emphasis is put on a practical approach. Lectures explain all the concepts behind a topic, students discuss these concepts in tutorials and do lab works which help the students implement the theory into practice.

The library is being updated and expanded to meet the specified needs of various IT, Management, Hotel Management, Tours and Travelling, Computer science and Social work topics. Newspapers and other periodicals such as Travelling Today, IT World, Computer and Electronics Express, Dataquest, Hotel Management World, Catering Today, Society Express etc. are also made available to the students.

In the Library there are number of journals available, which serve valuable purpose during case discussions. Apart from the literary material, the library is also having in house audio and visual facilities, related to all fields of IT, Hotel management and catering, Social Science and Computer Sciences. The students extensively utilize these in the classrooms and also individually. CD Net facilities are also under development.

Students are encouraged to make extensive use of computer in any subject.
The Computer centre is equipped with Pentium IV machines running windows 2000, Inter connected through a fast Ethernet LAN to a Pentium server, running Microsoft Windows NT.

The students have access to latest software such as Microsoft Office, Visual Basic etc. In addition LINUX are also available for working on an UNIX environment.

24 hours high speed broadband internet service is also available in the computer centre. All students have full access to E-mail and Internet facilities. Most students of HIT have their own private e-mail addresses and interact globally through the Internet.

The institute has the full fledged pracctical training labs. Parctical training is imparted to our students by qualified and trained faculty.
